Wink World at AREA15

A new attraction by the co-founder of the Blue Man Group, Chris Wink, is now open at AREA15 in Las Vegas.

AREA15, the 200,000-square-foot retail and entertainment complex in Las Vegas, has announced the opening of a new attraction called “Wink World: Portals Into The Infinite”, created by the co-founder of the Blue Man Group, Chris Wink.

The unique, immersive art experience opened to the public on 7 January 2021 and is Wink’s most ambitious project since leaving Blue Man Group in 2017. Over an area of 15,000 square feet, visitors will discover six infinity-mirror rooms, each one home to a different production number.

These shows use techniques such as black light and other stage effects to transform everyday objects into art and entertainment.  For instance, ceiling fans turn into kinetic art and toys like Slinkies and Hoberman Spheres become a chorus line of dancers and entertainers.

A multisensory experience

“Wink World will be a manifestation of my lifelong fascination with the transcendent power of the playful interaction of light, colour and music,” says Wink. “I’m delighted to introduce everyone to this brand-new, multisensory art and entertainment concept.”

Tickets for the experience are on sale now, costing $18 for adults and $13.50 for children. Discounts are also available for seniors, members of the military and local residents, and prices include ChromaDepth 3-D glasses.

Innovative artainment at Omega Mart

Another attraction opening soon at AREA15 is the eagerly awaited Omega Mart, Meow Wolf’s new permanent location in Las Vegas. This will cover an area of 52,000 square feet, more than double the size of the House of Eternal Return in Santa Fe, and promises to be “unlike anything visitors have seen before.”

When it opens, Omega Mart will be home to a stunning new installation by Claudia Bueno called Pulse, a collection of white line drawings intertwined and superimposed on 60 glass panels which come to life when illuminated.

Last year, blooloop spoke to Winston Fisher, CEO of AREA15 about the impact of COVID-19 on his experimental and innovative venture.

Fisher also spoke at the blooloop V-Expo and about his plans for AREA15 in Las Vegas and beyond:
