World of Illumination, the world’s largest drive-through animated light show, is breaking ground this week on its new holiday theme park, Candy Rush, located at Six Flags White Water in Marietta, Georgia.

The festive candy-themed attraction features millions of RGB LED lights, which boast up to 16 million different shades of colour, fully synchronised to popular holiday music.

World of Illumination’s Candy Rush also boasts hundreds of animated displays, including the largest candy-cane structure in the world, which has been installed by crane.

In addition, Candy Rush has a tunnel that serves as Santa’s magic portal, a gingerbread village, sugar plum fairies, lit-up treats, magical characters and simulated snowfall.

World of Illumination’s holiday theme park is uniquely COVID-friendly, as guests can enjoy the shows from the safety and comfort of their cars. Online reservations are required, making the experience totally touchless and socially safe.

“All of us at World of Illumination have been working hard for many months to provide safe and much-needed family entertainment to the community,” said co-founder, Simon Kreisberger.

Drive-through experiences popular amid COVID-19

“We are so excited to provide the kind of escape that people are needing this year and firmly believe we can help end 2020 on a much brighter note.”

Drive-through or drive-in experiences are becoming increasingly popular amid COVID-19. Another has been announced for Halloween, while Hyundai has partnered with the Museum of Latin American Art on a safe, free drive-thru art experience.

Recently, we’ve seen a drive-through haunt experience in Orlando named The Haunted Road, as well as a drive-through art experience in Rotterdam.

The Luna Drive In Cinema is also opening a drive-in cinema at Thorpe Park, and Netflix’s Stranger Things is getting a unique drive-through experience in LA.

World of Illumination’s Candy Rush opens on November 13, 2020 and runs through January 3, 2021.
