Personalised digital experiences for Yas Island

Yas Arena Bay Island Miral

Miral promises major digital transformation project giving Yas Island, Abu Dhabi guests an immersive wall-less digital experience.

The new platform is designed to seamlessly connect the world-class theme parks and other attractions on Yas Island.

Abu Dhabi-based developer Miral says the project will allow guests to take a highly personalized digital journey.  The project is part of Miral’s wider plans to attract domestic, regional and international visitors.  It is designed to appeal to both global leisure and business travellers.

The first phase of the project is set to launch during the first half of 2018.  It will transform both online and mobile visitor engagement with the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi theme park, Yas Waterworld, and a wide range of the island’s other attractions.

“Providing guests with immersive wall-less experiences has always been at the heart of the Yas Island vision,” says Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral. “With the support of our partners, this project will play a major role in reinforcing Yas Island’s position as a global entertainment and leisure destination of choice, and will allow us to combine our attractions with personalized technology enabled that will provide guests with unique and memorable experiences.”

Guests will receive a personal ID, their own digital ‘key’ that opens a connected wall-less experience tailored to their individual needs.  They can then enjoy a wide range of immersive experiences on their smartphones or digital devices.

The project is underpinned by an integrated cloud-based platform. This gives Miral the opportunity to further understand and meet the needs of visitors and business partners via customer experience management tools.

Miral announced its strategic partnerships with SapientRazorfish (part of Publicis.Sapient) and Cognizant.  The two companies created the backbone of the project. Their development teams are on-site at Yas Island.

“In a world driven by the exponential pace of technology advancement and changing customer expectations, Miral has demonstrated the ambition and ability to reimagine the world-class theme park experience of the future,” says Nigel Vaz, CEO of Publicis.Sapient International.  “We look forward to helping Miral truly transform the visitor experience to its unrivalled attractions through connected and immersive experiences.”

“We are pleased to leverage our analytics, cloud and agile development capabilities to help Miral unlock the power of its technology environment and drive market differentiation based on superior insights and delighted visitors,” says Narayan Iyer, Vice President, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and India, Cognizant.

Yas Island has a growing portfolio of theme parks. These include Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld.  Upcoming attractions for 2018 include Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and CLYMB.   SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is set to open by 2022.  The resort also offers a range of sporting and entertainment experiences including seven hotels, a marina, a championship golf course and the increasingly popular shopping destination, Yas Mall.
