KidZania celebrated its 20th birthday with the reopening of KidZania Santa Fe in Mexico City, Mexico. It underwent an extensive remodelling process, debuting on February 28.

KidZania Santa Fe, formerly known as La Ciudad de los Niños, features several new role-playing activities and professions to help children prepare for the jobs of the future.

New professions include astronaut, car designer, digital illustrator, structural engineer, IoT engineer, and robotics engineer.

Using KidZania’s 4.0 model, KidZania Santa Fe aims to stay current and evolve into a concept that adapts to the needs of visitors, offering more exciting experiences.

“We are celebrating 20 years of inspiring the hearts and minds of children in more than 25 countries to create a better world,” said Xavier Lopez Ancona, president of KidZania.

“A key part of this celebration is the remodeling and reopening of KidZania Santa Fe, the facility that saw our concept being born, and the metropolis that will surely set the pace for the next two decades of the company.”

KidZania has 28 locations in 21 countries. It is developing a further 11 locations in the US, Indonesia, South Africa, and more.

Earlier this year, KidZania announced a $10 million family entertainment centre (FEC) at the Mecca Mall in Amman, Jordan.

Prior to that, Emaar opened KidZania Abu Dhabi in Yas Mall. The edutainment attraction marked the expansion of KidZania in the UAE.
