Blooloop Privacy Policy

Introduction

The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) have been introduced to ensure that any business you deal with treats your personal data with respect and is open and transparent about what they do with it.

At Blooloop, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our website. In particular, we want you to know that we are not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes.

That’s just not for us.

But just to be sure, in this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure. So feel free to have a sit down and read through it at your leisure.

Types of data we collect

Website Cookies

Our website uses cookies to collect information.  This includes information about browsing behaviour of people who access our website.  This includes information about pages viewed and the customer journey around our website.

Google Analytics

When someone visits www.blooloop.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Mailing Lists

As part of the registration process for our e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer at dataprotection@blooloop.com

Third Parties

We will not share your details with anyone outside of Blooloop and our working partners, such as our website service company and sponsors of our events and awards. When you purchase a ticket you are asked to agree to our Privacy Policy, which means giving your consent to your details being shared with our sponsors. We may also add you to our newsletter mailing list from which you can unsubscribe.

When you enter our Innovation Awards and nominate entries for our Blooloop 50 Influencers, our platform provider Awards Force may collect information to facilitate your entry or nomination. Award Force’s privacy policy can be found here.

Blooloop will not hold or share sensitive information or your payment details.

Please be assured that we do not share your details with any other company without your consent.

Live and online event partners

When you purchase a ticket (or tickets) through the Eventbrite online ticketing system for in person events, data such as your name, company, job title, address, email, payment details and contact number may be collected by our ticketing partner Eventbrite and could be stored in their system. You can read their Privacy Policy here.

Similarly when you purchase tickets for our online events, our platform provider may collect information to facilitate your booking. Hubilo’s privacy policy can be found here. Crowdcast’s privacy policy can be found here.

When you purchase a ticket for one of our live events such as blooloopLIVE, or our online Festival of Innovation or greenloop, your name, address, company, job title, email and contact number will be stored to allow us to check attendees at the event.

The Hubilo event platform includes a matchmaking facility. Information supplied will only be used within the platform to enhance your networking.

Access to your Personal Information

Under GDPR, you have the right to access and amend any of their personal data that we hold about you. You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our data protection officer at dataprotection@blooloop.com.

Cookies Policy

We use a system of classifying the different types of cookies which we use on the website, or which may be used by third parties through our websites. The classification was developed by the International Chamber of Commerce UK and explains more about which cookies we use, why we use them, and the functionality you will lose if you decide you don’t want to have them on your device.

Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your personal computer, mobile or other device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user’s device.

How long are cookies stored for?

Persistent cookies – these cookies remain on a user’s device for the period of time specified in the cookie. They are activated each time that the user visits the website that created that particular cookie.

Session cookies – these cookies allow website operators to link the actions of a user during a browser session. A browser session starts when a user opens the browser window and finishes when they close the browser window. Session cookies are created temporarily. Once you close the browser, all session cookies are deleted.

Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improve the user experience.

You can find more information about cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org and www.youronlinechoices.eu.
