AV Stumpfl, Austrian award-winning creator of mobile and installation projection screens, multi-display and show control systems, will exhibit at this year’s InfoComm in Orlando, Florida.
The trade show takes place from 14 – 16 June, and the team will be showcasing its innovative new Flex Black PRO screen surface material. The firm will also reveal the new features that will be included in version 2.0 of the PIXERA media server.
Showcasing Flex Black PRO
This will be the US debut of AV Stumpfl’s new Flex Black PRO projection surface, which has been created to offer excellent black levels and an impressive contrast ratio.
Jan Walter, AV Stumpfl sales director screens, says: “Usually one cannot project onto a black surface in a truly satisfactory way, because the image would often hardly be visible due to the lack of diffuse reflection. Flex Black PRO solves exactly this problem in an exemplary way and makes it possible to project onto black surfaces with virtually any colour and dynamic range.
“The reactions to our new product have been extremely enthusiastic and we can’t wait to finally show it to our US customers!”
AnyShape technology
The AV Stumpfl team will also present their AnyShape technology, which enables AV professionals to purchase custom-built projection screens with a wide range of alternative frame forms. The capacity to create non-rectangular frame designs, such as circles, donut shapes, or displays with rounded edges, can revolutionise the way that designers use projection surfaces.
AV Stumpfl Inc. president Todd Liedahl explains: “We are not looking at just one static product, but a whole set of projection screen related technologies which allow us to offer premium quality frame shapes that nobody else can build. We want to give designers more options to tell exactly the stories they want to tell without being forced to only think in terms of rectangular shapes.”
Improvements to PIXERA
At InfoComm, media server specialists and other attendees interested in the most recent developments in real-time rendering and show control will also have the chance to learn about brand-new capabilities of the upcoming PIXERA software version 2.0.
The multi-user workflow capability of the new edition, which will give media server operators much more flexibility and efficiency when working on complicated installations or show setups, is one of its most notable features.
Now, when working in a multi-user environment, users can choose between several levels of granularity when syncing multiple PIXERA director licences. Real-time collaboration on complete projects is also possible, as well as on individual project components like warpings or timelines. Users can also decide to share each and every editing action among the connected systems if they so choose.
The new PIXERA 2.0 software also comes with new N+1 backup options and dry client programming capabilities as significant improvements. Meanwhile, the powerful layer mapping effects, which give complete freedom to map content pixels to screens based on the position of the screens in space, will be welcomed by AV experts interested in projection mapping.
Each screen group in PIXERA 2.0 will also have a unique set of viewpoints that govern how layers are perceived through the screens they are displayed on. As a result, PIXERA’s perspective management will now support various mapping techniques for specific media resources, enabling the display of some files as 2D overlays and others as 3D objects.
Global business development manager Conor McGill says: “This version opens a new chapter for our international user community. The combination of so many powerful features and workflow improvements sends a clear message that the PIXERA platform is here to stay.”
AV Stumpfl can be found at booth #3823 during InfoComm 2023.
Last year, AV Stumpfl’s PIXERA media server was selected to support a new immersive experience in Vienna, Austria, focusing on the life and work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
