The former theme park general manager will shape branding for the attractions tech specialist

Gateway Ticketing Systems, a leading provider of admission control systems, has announced the appointment of Sharon Parker as its senior manager of marketing.

Before working at Gateway, Parker worked for 15 years in a variety of capacities at Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags Over Texas, most recently as general manager. She also held the positions of manager of communications and director of marketing and entertainment. 

While working for the firm, Parker produced short- and long-term marketing plans handled all parts of external communications, and oversaw the development and implementation of every component of marketing the Six Flags brand for the original theme park location. She was in charge of directing and carrying out strategic park operations in her capacity as general manager.

Parker served as the Fort Worth Independent School District’s external communications coordinator before joining Six Flags, where she served as the main spokesman. She also adds a decade of expertise as a news anchor, general assignment reporter, and editor from her time at KWTX-TV. 

Passion for communications

Parker was one of the leading contributors to Gateway’s International Women’s Day debate last year and will utilise her expertise in the attractions industry to continue growing Gateway’s branding and marketing footprint.

Gateway Ticketing Systems recently acknowledged some of its most outstanding people during its annual Employee Service Awards, including the Presidentā€™s Award to employees exemplifying high performance and significant personal achievements.
