Legoland Windsor Resort has released a first look at the attractions, models and experiences of Lego Mythica: World of Mythical Creatures.

Lego Mythica, which opens on May 29, will feature the UK’s first flying theatre ride called Flight of the Sky Lion, as well as rides such as Fire and Ice Freefall and Hydra’s Challenge.

Legoland Windsor shared behind-the-scenes images of the resort’s team enjoying the rides and carrying out the final tests, as well as a teaser of the animated film at Flight of the Sky Lion.

The resort also unveiled drop ride Fire and Ice Freefall and water ride Hydra’s Challenge, and a glimpse at the magical portal entrance to Lego Mythica.

“We’re thrilled to give our guests a first look at Lego Mythica: World of Mythical Creatures and showcase some of the attractions, experiences and models that will be unveiled when we open in May,” said Helen Bull, divisional director at Legoland Windsor.

Lego Mythica will also feature Lego models of mythical creatures, created from more than 1.7 million Lego bricks and brought to life via augmented reality (AR) technology.

In addition, the new land will boast and adventure play area called Lava Dragon Play, a meet and greet experience called Creature Encounter, and the opportunity to build your own beasts at Creature Creation.

“We worked in partnership with Kids Industries and spent a year discussing and testing ideas and concepts with seven to 11 year olds and their parents who influenced everything from the final ride experiences, names and characters,” added Bull.

“It’s amazing to see the journey from that point to now and we’re confident Legoland fans will love Lego Mythica.”

F&B offerings at Lego Mythica, which is currently under construction close to Heartlake City, include the Hungry Troll restaurant and Beastly Bites snack bar.

Lego Mythica: World of Mythical Creatures is the single biggest investment and largest expansion at the Windsor theme park since it first opened in 1996.
