Tayto Park has announced its new name. From 1 January 2023, the attraction will be called Emerald Park, inspired by Ireland’s ‘Emerald Isle’ nickname.
The theme park in County Meath previously confirmed that Tayto’s sponsorship will end this year. Tayto Park founder Raymond Coyle, who died in June, said the partnership has “helped to create one of Ireland’s most popular tourist attractions”.
Unveiling the park’s new name, Charles Coyle, general manager of Tayto Park, said the team was “inundated with ideas from the public and it was wonderful to see such enthusiasm”.
“We commissioned a piece of research and Emerald Park was the clear favourite,” he added. “We will start next year with a new name and new brand throughout the park.”
New identity for Tayto Park
Tayto Park, which started out as as a small zoo and activity park in 2010, will reveal its new website and brand identity in January 2023.
This summer, the park broke ground on two new steel roller coasters with a budget of €30 million. Tayto Park’s new dinosaur-themed coaster for kids, called Dino Dash, opened in April.
“We made the strategic decision to not look for a brand title sponsor but rather create a new brand, Emerald Park, which we hope will be supported next year by a number of strategic brand partners from various sectors – FMCG, energy, transport to name a few,” said Niamh Reynolds, marketing manager at Tayto Park.
“We are actively meeting brand teams at present and we are very confident we will have the right partners in place for 2023,” she added.
