There are over one million Museumkaarts in use, the popular pass to over 400 museums in The Netherlands. The cardholders’ fee for the pass is aggregated, and administered by the Museums Card Foundation, part of the Dutch Museums Association – Museum Vereniging. The money is then distributed annually among the participating museums, based on the number of visits they received.
Challenge
Cards are valid for one year, and card entry to museums is limited to once a day per site so a better method for recording and verifying visitor usage was required than was previously performed by expensive cable-fixed terminals and scanners.
Solution
A collaboration: our MPti™ device camera scans a bar code printed on the card to Intersolve’s Scan’r App and delivers the admission data to the Intersolve network.
