Wassim Melki is associate partner at Atelier Brückner, an interdisciplinary planning office for architecture, exhibition design and scenography.
Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, Wassim is an architect and urban designer. He joined the Atelier Brückner team in 2012 and has worked on the planning and realisation of numerous exhibitions, museums, and visitor centres throughout Europe and the Middle East. The most recent examples of these projects include the Museum of the Future in Dubai (2021), the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet (2020), and the Macallan Visitor Centre in Speyside (2018). For all three, he served as the design lead and overall project manager.
Spanning an area of 30,000 square metres and featuring a remarkable stainless-steel façade, Dubai’s Museum of the Future opened to the public in February 2022. It is home to a research centre with labs and classrooms, as well as space to showcase new technologies like virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), big data analysis, artificial intelligence (AI) and human-machine interaction. Here, guests can learn about the future of space travel and living, climate change and ecology, and health and wellness. It is also powered by 4,000 megawatts of solar energy.
Meanwhile, the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet takes visitors on a journey through the history, present, and future of the Swiss watchmaker. The Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet combines modern architecture, cutting-edge scenography, and traditional know-how. It represents the manufacturer’s free spirit and commitment to preserving Haute Horlogerie in the Vallée de Joux and beyond.
Previous projects include serving as design lead and overall project manager for the Musée D’Ethnogaphie de Genève and working on temporary exhibitions exploring the Nobel Prize for Medicine and the Nobel Prize for Physics at Dubai Children’s City
Melki holds a BA in Architecture from the Lebanese American University and an MA in Urban Design from the Domus Academy.
