Kerri Balabas is a senior manager of engineering and safety at Universal Creative, which is part of NBCUniversal and is tasked with developing Universal theme parks and attractions. She specialises in overseeing safety engineering for key Universal attractions. She has played a critical role in high-profile projects such as Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood and the immersive Wizarding World of Harry Potter. In her position, Balabas integrates engineering principles with stringent safety standards to facilitate the development of these intricate, multi-sensory entertainment experiences, guaranteeing both guest enjoyment and safety.
In addition to her work at Universal, Balabas has been involved in the museum sector by joining the board of the National Animation Museum, a planned new museum devoted to the art and science of animation in all its forms. Kerri Balabas has been with Universal for over a decade. Before this, she spent more than 11 years with Global Experience Specialists, starting as a producer/project manager for branded entertainment and then as director of project management for branded entertainment. At GES, Balabas was the lead project manager for touring exhibitions and events, including Harry Potter: The Exhibition.
