Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away
A story to shake the conscience of the world
Co-produced by Musealia and the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, this award winning exhibition includes over 500 original objects and provides a detailed, accurate, and deeply moving tour through this devastating history. Auschwitz remains a universal symbol of the Holocaust, one of the darkest episodes in human history, which saw the murder of more than 6 million innocent people by Nazi Germany. Only behind the barbed wire fences of Auschwitz, the largest Nazi concentration and death camp, more than 1,100,000 people were killed.
Small personal belongings from some of the victims, physical structures from the huge camp, documents and unpublished audio-visual recordings make up a rigorous and moving tour with a clear goal; to help people learn first-hand how a place like Auschwitz could come into existence, as well as its terrible consequences. It is an unforgettable reflection on the complex reality of Auschwitz and the nature of the human spirit.
