Titanic. The Human Story
The True Story of a Legend
Step back to 1912 and rediscover the Titanic as this remarkable exhibition uncovers the myths and misconceptions surrounding the iconic ship. Through authentic, original objects—many of which belonged to the passengers and crew—you’ll learn that the real human stories are often more moving and surprising than any fiction. Join the passengers and crew of the RMS Titanic on its first and final voyage in an unforgettable journey that explores the ship’s brief but legendary life, from its conception and the shock of its tragic sinking, to the current state of the wreck, resting four kilometers beneath the sea.
Through more than 200 original objects, the exhibition provides a powerful window into the hopes and dreams of the passengers and crew, many of whom embarked on the Titanic as immigrants seeking a new life in the New World. Highlights include letters from First Officer William Murdoch, the engagement ring of a couple lost at sea, and a jewel that inspired James Cameron’s famous film, as well as fragments of the ship itself, like part of the grand staircase. These items tell the human stories behind the headlines, bringing the Titanic’s tragic history to life.
Visitors can immerse themselves in the experience aboard the ship through one of the largest Titanic collections in the world. Walk through life-sized recreations: enter through the ship’s main door, stroll down a first-class corridor, and explore cabins. Feel the chill of an iceberg, and forge a connection with the past that allows you to experience the Titanic like never before.
An unforgettable exhibition for all ages, visited by over 3 million people worldwide.
