Wild Republic has been manufacturing and distributing nature-inspired toys to children around the world since 1979. The company has offices around the world and works with a wide variety of retailers, museums, zoos, and aquariums.
Founded with the intention of keep children engaged with conservation and wildlife after their visit, Wild Republic works closely with a number of organisations including the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the Natural History Museum to ensure that their products are both fun and educational. The company’s founder, Mr Gopala B. Pillai, is heavily involved with several social responsibility projects in India, including an animal rescue and rehabilitation center at Panmana Asramam, a Trust Fund which ensures food security for the monkeys of Sastha Temple, and Abhayabala: a charity for girls who are the victims of abuse.
Wild Republic is driven by a desire to maximise its impact on both people and planet, and the company has several highly ambitious sustainability goals targeted at reducing the carbon footprint of their products. The goals target several key areas of the company including:
- Packaging (Wild Republic uses biodegradable alternatives and recycled cardboard to reduce plastic packaging)
- Production (stuffed animals are filled with 100% recycled water bottles)
- Product features (Only 50% of Wild Republic Plush products contain beads)
