The new facility is comprised of separate outdoor habitats of public viewing and an off-exhibit training yard and large indoor viewing habitats for winter visitation. Due to site constraints and animal management preferences two habitats are fully enclosed mesh structures and one is an open moated habitat. Indoor day rooms are tall glass fronted rooms with sliding glass doors leading out into the outdoor habitats.

A number of animal activated devices are scattered throughout the visitor area and random scatter feeders, cool and warm air blasts, and intermittent showers occur throughout the day. Guests may also be the recipients of similar effects controlled by the apes.
