Welcoming your visitors after lockdown – An updated guide for Visitor Attractions

(Version 2: June 2020)

On Wednesday 10th June, the UK Government announced significant easing to lockdown measures in England and Northern Ireland, with non-essential shops and, more significantly for our industry, some visitor attractions allowed to open from Monday 15th June.

Whether you’re a commercial attraction or not for profit, there will be opportunities for growth if your reopening is handled well.

We’ve produced this comprehensive guide to help you with the planning process and included some tips on creating a great visitor experience. We understand that each attraction is different but hope that this guide proves practical. Whilst this is version 2.0, we realise it may still be a while before some attractions can re-open, with that in mind you can find the “Activities during shutdown” section from version 1.0 in the appendix of this document.
