The National Museum of Science & Technology (NMST) was founded in 1965 and works to expand science education and enhance scientific awareness. In addition, NMST runs an extensive events programme and produces a range of publications, including titles which aim at inspiring children and young people.

Ali is the author of Intersectionality in Action: Museums as Catalysts for Inclusion and Sustainable Development, a paper which highlights the importance of museums in supporting inclusive communities. He is currently preparing a paper for the CAA-Getty International Program titled Inclusive Museology for Sustainable Development: Addressing Global and Local Challenges in the Global South.

Ali is an active member of the museum community, attending international conferences such as the ICDAD 2024 Annual Conference and the Museum International & General Conference Dubai 2025, and engaging with global bodies including ICOM. In addition, he is involved in fundraising for events including the INTERCOM and ICR annual conferences.

He was awarded the National Integrity Award in 2021, reflecting his ethical approach and dedication to upholding high standards within the museum sector.
