Colleen Meyers has been with Walt Disney Imagineering since 2001. The Disney division is responsible for designing and building all of Disney’s theme parks, resorts, attractions and cruise ships.
“Those who are most significant to a project becoming reality rarely adequately receive the recognition they deserve, as they often prefer to put their head down, get to it, and let the work speak for itself. Colleen Meyers has been an unsung hero at Walt Disney Imagineering for more than 20 years, quietly and diligently working to bring an untold number of creative visions to life for some of the most memorable and iconic attractions at the world’s most visited theme park destinations,” said one nominator.
As executive director of Artisan – Color Design & Paint at Imagineering, she leads a team of painters and colour designers who bring the settings of beloved stories to life. Her team’s work is featured in the background of every photo taken on a Disney vacation.
“Her professional guidance, expertise, tenacity, and awe-inspiring talent have breathed life into the far-reaching territory of the Black Spire Outpost, the otherworldly Valley of Mo’ara, the quaint charming hills of New Fantasyland, and scores of other phenomenally imaginative environments,” the nominator added.
“As one of the key people responsible for bringing the wonder of concept art to three-dimensional reality, Colleen Meyers deserves recognition for her contributions to the Most Magical Place on Earth.”
