Join us at greenloop for Silence or Spin? A green marketeer’s guide to finding the right tone for authentic sustainability communication with Paul Randle, CEO and founder, Pickle Consulting.
greenloop, blooloop’s annual online conference for sustainability in visitor attractions, is taking place on 13 &14 May 2025.
In this session, we will get an outsider’s view of our industry and consider some common marketing scenarios, such as how to describe ‘green products’, ways to speak effectively about green theme park initiatives, and how legislation, such as the European Union Green Claims Directive, will redefine marketing.
Paul RandleSustainability, when done properly, fundamentally reorganises what your product is, reorganises what your proposition is. Marketeers need to understand the technical complexity of that.
Randle will dive into how theme parks and museums can better communicate their green messaging, reframe their proposition, and strategically integrate sustainability into their activities.
Meet the speaker
Paul Randle has been working in marketing for 35 years. He is CEO and founder of Pickle Consulting, a tutor at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), co-founder of the Sustainable Marketing Compass, and co-author of Sustainable Marketing – the industry’s role in a sustainable future, a finalist in the 2024 Business Book Awards. He also offers consulting services.
In his early career Randle launched ISO14001 and has worked with brands such as Microsoft, Philips, AkzoNobel, VISA, BSI, AVIVA and Honda. However, this changed seven years ago when his daughter asked, “Daddy, is your job good for the environment?”, to which he had no good answer.
This question inspired him to pivot into understanding sustainability through a marketing lens, and he is now recognised as a digital pioneer and leading authority on sustainable marketing.
