Founded in 1947, the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums is a not for profit organisation bringing together professionals, organisations, institutions and service providers from the museum sector. Providing a unique community, the association offers resources to enhance awareness and education.
The team recognises museum interest through creating a number of community events in the Mid-Atlantic regions of Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
The Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums offers help, support and the promotion of excellence, ethics and accessibility. Through representing culture, science and heritage, the team help museums to develop and improve services for visitors.
The annual meeting hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums provides attendees the opportunity to network and connect with professionals of the museum sector. Showcasing professional development and special events, the meeting aims to inspire and educate.
The 2024 meeting will take place 8-10 October at Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District.
MAAM also hosts Building Museums™ Symposium, a conference for museum leaders, architects, planners and project managers. The three day event explores the process and planning of new construction, renovation, preservation or expansion of museum capital building projects.
