The Grand Aquarium serves as Ocean Park’s keystone in Aqua City, a water-culture thematic destination. The building is organized around a descending ramp that allows guests to experience the exhibits over, under, around, and through, including a massive ocean tank with major viewing window experiences. The design includes interactive exhibitry and fully integrated environmental graphics that engage guests in Mandarin and English. The aquarium houses the Park’s Atoll Reef collections and expanded the collection to include species previously not exhibited in China. The design also included a highly themed gift shop and an elevated restaurant that has unparalleled views into the ocean tank.
