Construction on the new Lake of the Ozarks development is set to begin.

Plans have been approved for Oasis at Lakeport, a new $350 million resort and entertainment district in Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks.

St. Louis-based SkyView Partners, Tegethoff Development, and the Big Thunder Marine boating centre owner Fred Ross announced the formal approval of the development plan.

With the green light given, construction is scheduled to start immediately, with plans to open the resort in summer 2024. Work on the hotel and water park is expected to be completed in 2026.

Todd Schneider, co-managing partner of SkyView Partners, said the developers “are committed to keeping the Osage Beach community informed of our progress over the next year as Oasis grows to be the premiere tourist destination of the Midwest”.

“With the development plan approved by the City of Osage Beach, we are extremely pleased to begin construction of Oasis at Lakeport, which will offer year-round attractions and entertainment for everyone at the lake to enjoy,” said Schneider.

Oasis at Lakeport will offer 25 acres of amusement rides and attractions, an indoor water park, a 26,000-square-foot conference centre, restaurants, and a 400-room Marriott hotel.

The destination’s rides and attractions will include roller coasters, thrill rides, family-friendly offerings and a 20-foot-tall observation wheel.

Oasis at Lakeport is being constructed at the Lakeport marina, which was acquired by Big Thunder Marine in 2021.

The new resort‘s Marriott property was announced earlier this year. Schneider said the hotel “will solidify Oasis as the premier tourist destination in the Midwest”.

Jeff Tegethoff, founding principal of Tegethoff Development, said the team is “committed to bringing partners to the lake community that will provide employment opportunities and enjoyment for future generations”.
