Universal Destinations & Experiences is reportedly in talks with Bharti Real Estate for a new indoor theme park in India.
Bharti Real Estate, part of Bharti Enterprises, is developing a 3 million-square-foot mall – the largest in India – at Delhi Aerocity near the airport.
The Economic Times reports that the company expects to lease 300,000 square feet at the facility for an indoor theme park.
Plans for global theme park at Delhi Aerocity
“We have earmarked 10 percent of the total leasable area for a global entertainment park,” Bharti Real Estate chief executive SK Sayal told the publication.
The new mall will be completed by mid-2027, he added.
Sayal said the company is in talks with potential partners for the theme park, although he didn’t name any.
The report in the Economic Times said its sources were two people aware of the development.
Universal already has theme parks in the US (Florida and California), and in Beijing, Japan and Singapore.

It’s also already expanding its location-based entertainment (LBE) footprint. Next month, the company is opening its fourth theme park in Florida, Universal Epic Universe.
Epic Universe is the most ambitious theme park ever created by Universal, showcasing an unmatched level of immersion, innovation and storytelling.
Beyond Epic Universe, Universal’s parks business continues to grow, beginning with the debut of Universal Horror Unleashed in Las Vegas this August.
Universal’s LBE expansion
This will be followed by Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas, which launches next year.
Additionally, Universal plans to build its first-ever park in the UK, with construction to start in 2026 and an opening scheduled for 2031.
In a recent statement, Comcast Corporation’s chairman and CEO Brian Roberts said Universal’s theme parks “remain on an incredible growth trajectory”.
