R2-D2 has finally joined the cast of characters roaming and gliding around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park, ahead of the debut of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort already feature characters from the galaxy, including members of the First Order and the Resistance, as well as creatures and droids.
Now, Disneyland in California has welcomed a free-roaming R2-D2, who can interact with guests at the immersive expansion, according to Disney Parks Blog.
Artoo has appeared in all nine films in Star Wars’ Skywalker saga, including Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which recently hit cinemas.
R2-D2 has popped up at Disneyland just in time for the opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance next week (January 17).

The immersive ride opened at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida in December 2019.

Meanwhile, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will debut in 2021 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Disney recently released new concept images of the immersive two-night hotel experience.
