Valo Motion, a pioneer in combining interactive technology with physical activities, was recognised with a Brass Ring Award at last month’s IAAPA Expo 2022. It won the award for ValoArena, its innovative mixed reality playground in the category of Best New Product “Virtual and Augmented Reality”.
The Best New Product category honours the best new products and services in the industry and this particular subcategory celebrates “the best virtual or augmented reality product or equipment including hardware or software.”
The attraction, which also made its US debut this year, does not require employee supervision, wires, or wearables, allowing guests to easily enter the immersive, physically active gameplay. Groups of up to six players can take park a range of different games as they compete in a simultaneously physical and virtual space on an arena-like stage. Meanwhile, spectators can also enjoy the experience, as they watch and cheer.
Second Brass Ring Awards success for Valo Motion
“Valo Motion is honoured to be selected by the IAAPA Awards Committee for a Brass Ring Award, one of the attractions industry’s most prestigious honours,” says Dr Raine Kajastila, Valo Motion CEO.“With ValoArena, our approach to combining active physical play and video games in FECs has evolved into an attraction that is as easy to jump in and play as it is to operate.”
Valo Motion also had success in IAAPA’s Brass Ring Awards in 2019 too, with ValoJump Double winning in the Best New Product category. ValoJump also won the Brass Ring Award for Best New Product (Technology Applied to Amusements) for Super Stomp, a multiplayer ValoJump trampoline game.
The annual Brass Ring awards celebrate operators and suppliers from across the attractions industry, recognising excellence in food and beverage, games and retail, human resources, live entertainment, marketing, new products, and exhibits.
Earlier this year, Valo Motion unveiled the Jump Theatre experience for ValoJump, a new tech-infused activity that values fun and enjoyment over straightforward competitiveness.
