SK ecoplant is known for its cutting-edgeĀ environmental technologies

Wellbeing organisation Therme Group has teamed up SK ecoplant to develop its new resort in South Korea’s Incheon.

SK ecoplant is a construction and plant company, and part of South Korean conglomerate SK Corp. It has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Therme Group.

SK ecoplant is known for its diversified energy solutions, from solar power to fuel cells, as well as cutting-edge environmental technologies like water treatment.

Through this partnership, the new South Korea resort will integrate advanced air and water filtration systems, and state-of-the-art heat exchange technology.

Under the terms of the agreement, SK ecoplant would serve as the primary contractor. It would oversee licensing, design support, and construction at the site.

Therme Group would be responsible for the development and operational elements of the project. The MOU also includes a collaborative technology initiative.

Park Kyung-il, CEO of SK ecoplant, said, “Through this agreement, we will strengthen our relationship with Therme Group and create synergy in the global market through active collaboration.”

Robert Hanea, CEO of Therme Group, added, “Partnering with experts such as SK ecoplant will enable Therme Group to deliver its unique wellbeing proposition to Incheon city.

“Together, we’re committed to redefining the standard of sustainable innovative urban wellbeing.”

Sustainable wellbeing destination

The new Therme destination will feature saunas, hot pools and wellness experiences. It will be inspired by Korean traditions and culture.

Last week, Therme Group reported record visitor numbers for 2023 at its flagship resort, Therme Bucharest.

Therme’s wellness destinations offer a unique immersive environment alongside water-based activities, wellbeing therapies, art experiences and botanics.
