New queue experience “hasn’t quite materialized

Disneyland‘s Haunted Mansion is reopening at the park in time for Halloween, but construction on the area around the attraction will not be complete.

The spooky dark ride has been closed for renovations since January. Disneyland has been updating the area around the attraction, creating a new gift shop and expanding the outdoor queue.

Disneyland has already confirmed the ride will reopen with a virtual queue system, as well as its annual The Nightmare Before Christmas-themed overlay.

It has also already revealed that the updated queue for the Haunted Mansion will debut later, and the Disneyland website confirms: “Our new stand-by queue experience hasn’t quite materialized yet.

“Using a virtual queue allows us to welcome back foolish mortals to this eerie estate once again while we continue work on the surrounding area.”

The updated experience around the Haunted Mansion will include new gardens inspired by Master Gracey, Madame Leota and the one-eyed cat. Each of these gardens will include unique features, like a water fountain and themed statuary.

Haunted Mansion open for Halloween

The area will house a new greenhouse where the groundskeepers for the Haunted Mansion grow their plants. The new gift shop is themed to Madame Leota and located in the attraction’s carriage house.

Disneyland’s Halloween celebrations begin on 23 August, so the Haunted Mansion is likely to reopen before then.

Meanwhile, the Disney Treasure cruise ship will boast the first-ever Haunted Mansion-themed bar. There will be creepy cocktails, exclusive products, themed decor, and characters from the Disney parks attraction.
