Goppion began as a small glass-making workshop, with the first museum client Museo deli Strumenti Musicali in Milan who commissioned Goppion to create display cases for an installation designed by architects Cossovich and Monzeglio. This was the start of their bespoke museum work, which quickly grew.
The company began to foster partnerships with Italian research institutions to help tackle the many conservation challenges museums were facing. The company were engineering display cases to protect works of art from variations in humidity and temperature, setting a benchmark for the industry as experts in preventive conservation. The company continued to innovate and refine it’s manufacturing techniques, whilst still retaining it’s heritage in it’s hometown of Milan.
