Six-player immersive gaming room will be available in Edmonton and Calgary

Inowize, a creative company delivering interactive experiences, has announced a collaboration with Cineplex, a leading entertainment and media company in Canada.

With this new partnership, the company will bring its six-player immersive gaming room, QBIX, to The Rec Room locations in Edmonton and Calgary.

Maximising guest satisfaction & ROI

QBIX will launch at the new locations in Q1 this year. The social gaming experience is designed for a broad audience, with a growing library of games available in six languages. It features 5D effects such as wind blasts and a motion floor, 270 degree screen projection, and a handheld controller that provides a highly immersive experience without the need for bulky VR headsets.

Additionally, the fully automated attraction offers high throughput on a compact footprint, maximising operator income.

“Cineplex is an iconic name in the entertainment industry, and we are thrilled to partner with them to bring QBIX to even more audiences across Canada,” says Stefan Murariu, head of sales at Inowize. “The demand for highly immersive, and gamified experiences is growing, and QBIX will elevate the guest experience at these locations by offering something truly engaging and unique.”

Kevin Watts, executive vice president – exhibition + LBE at Cineplex, says: “We are excited to bring this unique offering to our guests as part of our strategy to provide fun and exciting immersive experiences at our locations.”

Last month, Inowize announced that it has joined forces with Warehouse of Games, a leading supplier of arcade games and rides for family entertainment centres (FECs) in the Middle East. In an exclusive distribution partnership, Warehouse of Games will sell and distribute the QBIX attraction in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, bringing the 6-player immersive gaming room to a larger regional audience.

The company also recently attended IAAPA Expo 2024, where it showcased the potential of the QBIX 6-player immersive gaming room to drive profit for FECs.
