Efteling‘s signature hotel has reopened with a new name after renovations to its ground floor and retheming across the property.
The Efteling Wonder Hotel, formerly the Efteling Hotel, closed in January for major renovation works.
Efteling’s first hotel, which opened in 1992, now features a more accessible entrance and lobby. It also houses a new restaurant called Saga inspired by the park’s fairytales.
Updated signature hotel at Efteling
Highlights in Saga include an interactive play area where children can explore “the enchanting world of dreams”, Efteling said in a press release.
The updated hotel, described as a “floating castle”, also offers new entertainment, including an evening experience for children.
Additionally, a new themed suite has been created as part of the renovation. The Circus Suite has been turned into the Jokie & Jet Suite, a colourful space based on Efteling’s Carnival Festival attraction.
The hotel’s 124 rooms and suites were revamped in 2021, and the exterior of the building was renovated in 2023.
Efteling is also preparing to open its new Efteling Grand Hotel on 1 August. Designed to feel like a traditional hotel, the new accommodation has 140 rooms and suites.
Nicole Scheffers, Efteling’s director of park and resorts, said last year: “With the opening of the Efteling Grand Hotel in 2025 on the horizon, we wanted to position our very first hotel even more clearly.”
She added: “The Efteling Wonder Hotel stands out from our other overnight stay locations through strong theming. The hotel, with its boundless wonder, is our very own floating castle of fairytales.”
In more news, Efteling has announced a new family attraction to open in summer 2026, with construction starting later this year.
