Mad Systems Inc., the award-winning audiovisual and interactive system designer and integrator, has announced the expansion of its international patent portfolio.

The company has been granted its first patent by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Patent No. SA 20438).

This latest addition joins 10 patents in the US, one in China, and one in Hong Kong.

Following the grant of two further US patents in late May, this milestone demonstrates Mad Systems’ dedication to providing advanced personalisation around the world.

First KSA patent

The inaugural, comprehensive KSA patent brings every part of the company’ s AV++® technology suite together in a single filing.

This includes:

  • CheshireCat and LookingGlass Concierge. These recognition and concierge modules tailor each guest’s journey.
  • Alice and Lory. AI engines that power real-time content generation, selection and delivery.
  • Any recognition method. Including, but not limited to, CheshireCat facial recognition.
  • Any delivery platform. Ranging from static displays, handheld devices and AR glasses to smart watches and emerging formats.

Maris J. Ensing, founder and CEO of Mad Systems, says: “Securing KSA patent protection alongside our existing US, Chinese and Hong Kong patents is a significant achievement. This broad coverage ensures that institutions across the Middle East can leverage our full AV++ suite with confidence and compliance.”

Mad Systems Inc. announced AV++ at the 2025 AAM Annual Meeting and MuseumExpo, which took place in Los Angeles in May. This new service promises to transform analytics for museums, science centres, zoos, and attractions. The AV++ suite, which includes QuickSilver®, Alice, and CheshireCat, delivers groundbreaking real-time visitor analytics that exceeds traditional attendance counts.

These technologies provide rich insights such as dwell times, time in galleries, overall museum visit duration, engagement levels, repeat visitation, and crowd patterns in real time, enabling attraction operators to optimise every facet of the guest experience.
