The National Animation Museum is a non-profit virtual and physical museum that will celebrate animation in all its forms. The educational museum will highlight all aspects of animation including hand drawn, stop action, digital effects, video games, animatronics and AR/VR.
Hosting galleries, displays, exhibitions and events, this unique art form will be celebrated through innovative, evolving technology with an outlook to inspire young people, students and families.
Carefully curated by award-winning animators, innovators and pioneers, the museum design team, board members and advisors have an in depth knowledge and understanding on delivering world-class experiences. The National Animation Museum is set to progress over the next few years with architects, planners and designers developing this new cultural destination. Showcasing skills, creativity and knowledge, the team will create a truly unique, one of a kind museum.
The museum is supported by a $2.5 million investment by the State of California, and is currently in a three year planning initiative. Providing a path of development of both a virtual and physical museum based in Burbank, Southern California, the museum will be in the heart of the industry with animation studios Disney, Dreamworld and most recently, Netflix as neighbours.
