National Animation Museum partners with MinaLima

The National Animation Museum, a planned new museum devoted to the art and science of animation in all its forms, has revealed that it is partnering with London-based studio MinaLima.

The studio, which is best known for working on the Harry Potter film series and franchise, has been commissioned to design the new museum’s logo and branding.

Design & storytelling

MinaLima has created a unique logo which skillfully combines the history of cinematic art with the wonder of animation, while extensive style and brand guidelines establish a unified and visually striking identity.

Miraphora Mina, co-founder of MinaLima, says: “To date, we are known for our graphic and illustration work on films, books and theme parks; working with the National Animation Museum is an extraordinary opportunity to infuse creativity into the heart of an educational institution. We are committed to bringing our passion for storytelling through design to the world of animation.”

Eduardo Lima, co-founder of MinaLima, adds: “Our goal is to create a visual language that pays homage to the rich heritage of animation while also sparking curiosity and excitement among museum visitors.”

Eddie Newquist, founder and CEO of the National Animation Museum, comments: “MinaLima’s unparalleled expertise in design and storytelling aligns perfectly with our vision for the National Animation Museum. We are honored to have them on board as we embark on this exciting journey.”

As the National Animation Museum moves into the planning stages, the public can stay updated and track its progress by visiting nationalanimationmuseum.org.

Last month, The National Animation Museum announced that three industry veterans joined the team as the museum entered its creative development phase. David Sieden, VP of cinema partnerships at Disney Entertainment, has joined the museum’s board of directors together with Kerri Balabas, a senior manager at Universal Studios Creative.

Christine Farris has been appointed to the leadership team as the planning project director. She brings project management and oversight experience which supports the museum’s ambition to set new benchmarks in the museum sector.
