Peacock and Blumhouse have teamed up to launch an immersive experience at the Stanley Hotel, the inspiration for the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King’s The Shining.
The two-day horror experience is called the ‘Overnightmare’ and takes place at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado from 18 October until 20 October.
Guests can book to stay in rooms themed to one of four Blumhouse films – Insidious, The Purge, Happy Death Day and Freaky.
During the day, guests will meet various creepy characters and visit spooky spaces like the Teacup room, a scary salon based on the new thriller series produced by James Wan‘s Atomic Monster.

At the Blumhouse Bar, they will enjoy a sip and a scare, and get to play the company’s new video game, Fear the Spotlight.
Each evening, an after-dark experience will take place with interactive characters, narratives and scares based on the Blumhouse filmography.
These experiences have been made for various fear thresholds. The Freaky and Happy Death Day offerings are for general audiences, while The Purge and Insidious experiences are for horror fans.
Tickets and additional details can be found on the Stanley Hotel’s website. The weekend package includes a two-night stay in a double occupancy room, an interactive scare experience, a complimentary welcome dinner, $100 credit for breakfast or lunch at Brunch & Co., nightly screenings and two drink vouchers for the Blumhouse Bar per guest.
Eerie experiences based on Blumhouse films
Immersive hotel and horror experiences are both big trends in the attractions industry at the moment.
Last year, Madame Tussauds and Warner. Bros partnered with the InterContinental Hotels Group to launch an overnight experience in New York for Halloween.
Guests enjoyed drinks and a three-course dinner inspired by The Exorcist, The Conjuring and It, before exploring scenes from the horror franchises.
