The product was developed to meet the needs of the amusement and leisure industry

Pole Star is reflecting on the evolution of its innovative product, Assetnest, which is a centralised asset management system designed by asset managers for asset managers. The system was created by Pole Star to serve the needs of the amusement and leisure industry.

Pole Star is a leader in asset management with over a decade of experience. The firm identified a gap in the market for a specialised solution for visitor attractions. It saw a need for a flexible and accessible asset management system that could keep up with this fast-paced industry.

With an in-depth understanding of the sector, Pole Star was well-placed to develop a tailored solution which would help attractions and leisure facilities manage their physical assets with enhanced insights to create greater efficiency. The firm sought to develop a digital solution which would be affordable and user-friendly.

Efficient, sustainable & cost-effective

This system was designed with the sector’s particular workforce demographic in mind. The firm explains: “The spark that ignited Assetnest’s creation came from the realization that many theme park employees, entrusted with inspecting critical assets, were often seasonal staff and young university students, many of whom were under 25 years old.”

Assetnest was developed to digitise the inspection process, making it more straightforward and reducing paperwork. This approach has resulted in improved sustainability, lower running costs, and greater efficiency for users of the app.

The system has also proven effective in managing reputational risk, with safety built into the design. Assetnest reduces the risk of incidents and accidents by making sure that all assets are well-maintained. Attractions and visitors can be assured of the safety of the assets, enhancing brand reputation.

Intuitive UX

The app offers attractions and leisure facilities an intuitive, elegant interface which makes asset management more straightforward. This approach is industry-leading and reflects the sector’s need for accessible and adaptable tools. The app is also regularly updated by the team at Pole Star to reflect the evolving needs of the industry.

Assetnest has been adopted by major brands across the UK and showcases the opportunities for innovation in the industry. The firm says: “The journey of Assetnest by Pole Star is a story of innovation born out of the desire to empower and uplift the amusement and leisure industry. By addressing the challenges faced by theme parks, Assetnest will become the catalyst for change and progress.”

Enhancing customer service

Crucially, attractions and leisure facilities that use Assetnest will reduce the time needed for inspections, meaning that staff can focus on providing excellent customer service.

Edward Hiskins, the founder of Pole Star, explains: “Assetnest by Pole Star stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to revolutionize the amusement and leisure industry. Our journey has been one of vision, adaptability, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of this dynamic sector.

“With a user-centric approach and a passion for transformative solutions, we have redefined asset management, empowering theme parks to embrace a future that is sustainable, efficient, and secure. Assetnest isn’t just an app; it’s a catalyst for positive change, enabling parks to focus on creating unforgettable experiences while leaving cumbersome paperwork behind.”

Assetnest attended its first major industry event last winter. Company consultant Alex Payne was one of the keynote speakers at the Family Attraction Expo in Birmingham. Payne presented the benefits of Assetnest, introducing delegates to the system’s simple-to-use, paperless system for managing on-site assets.
