The $70 million museum which is set to open in 2019, will allow greater accessibility for the 4.3 million visitors who come to Liberty Island each year.  Currently 80% of the visitors to the iconic statue are unable to enter the pedestal and visit the museum.

The new Statue of Liberty Museum has been designed by FXFowle and features an immersive cinema and interactive galleries. The building has an environmentally responsible design and incorporates sustainability best practices.
