Dallas-based Cinergy Entertainment Group is planning to build a 90,000 square foot entertainment complex in Edinburg, Texas.
The attraction will include a cinema, a bowling alley, a multi-level laser tag arena, a gaming room, escape rooms, a zip line and an elevated rope course.
According to an article in The Monitor, the project is likely to cost in the region of $29m.
Edinburg is planning to reposition itself as a destination city. Alongside the entertainment complex, two further facilities are in the pipeline: the Bert Ogden Arena and HEB Park.
Officials reportedly described the new attractions as ‘magnets for the throngs of people in the (Rio Grande) valley’.
The movie theatre is set to include 10 state-of-the-art auditoriums with wall-to-wall screens, recliner seating and an enhanced sound system. The bowling alley will include 18 lanes and the game room will offer guests over 100 interactive games.
Cinergy Cinemas & Entertainment already has three locations in Texas, at Midland, Odessa and Amarillo. A fourth is currently under construction in Tyler.
Edinburg’s new facility is scheduled for completion in summer 2018.
