Leading creator of museum tour solutions, Imagineear, has provided its Digital GroupGuide™ (DGG™) to the Royal Castle in Warsaw, Poland.
The system allows tour guides to run larger and more frequent tours by transmitting their commentary to visitors’ individual receivers.
According to Imagineear, up to 64 tour groups can simultaneously tune in on discreet channels, with a range of up to 50 metres. Thus, the guides no longer have to strain their voices and listeners benefit from crystal clear commentary, even in noisy locations.
“With the DDG™ we offer more than a link between guides and visitors,” comments Mariusz Marszałkiewicz, Imagineear’s Regional Manager in Poland. “The system’s sophisticated on-line reporting facility links into the site’s ticketing system and bank account.”
He adds: “We have also provided staff on the castle site which has received 1,843 visitors in the first six days of its new opening.”
Imagineear has a growing presence in Poland
The Royal Castle, along with the city’s Old Town, is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The building originally dates from the fourteenth century. It was expanded in the sixteenth century before being destroyed during the Swedish Wars in the seventeenth century. It was rebuilt and rose to artistic glory during the eighteenth century.
But, this was not the end of its woes. The Nazis bombed and looted it following the invasion of Poland in 1939 and the castle was almost totally destroyed in 1944 after the failed Warsaw Uprising. But, against all the odds, the castle was completely rebuilt in the 1980s. Newly restored areas have just recently been opened to the public. Unsurprisingly, the castle is seen as a symbol of the resilience of the Polish people.
Imagineear has a growing presence in Poland. Earlier this year, the company provided its handheld MediaPacker™ devices to the National Museum in Warsaw, Poznań Zoo, and the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów.
What’s more, fans of Legia Warsaw football club are currently enjoying multimedia tours of the Marshal Józef Piłsudski Stadium via Imagineear’s MPti™ devices using its Multi GroupGuide™ suite.
