Blackpool Pleasure Beach is offering thrill seekers the chance to experience the UK’s tallest roller coaster with ‘Walk The Big One XL’, an extended version of the park’s ‘Walk The Big One’.
Following the success of the existing Walk The Big One offering, Walk The Big One XL takes participants on a guided tour of The Big One, unveiling never-before-seen areas.
While Walk The Big One allows guests to climb the lifthill of the ride, the new XL experience reveals even more of the ride. Participants will get to explore the ride’s maintenance area and climb 420 steps to the top of the ride.
Visitors will also be able to climb two new points on the ride, enjoying views of the coaster itself and the surrounding area. Participants will be guided through the experience by the park‘s ride operations team.
Walk The Big One XL
“The original Walk The Big One and Walk The Woodie events have been hugely successful so we wanted to develop a new experience to build on these and offer something completely new,” said Andy Hygate, Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s director of operations.
“Walk The Big One XL will take our guests to parts of the ride they will never have been to before, and experience unique views of the ride and surrounding areas.”
“Having tried the walk myself, I can definitely say that it’s something that all fans of Blackpool Pleasure Beach will love to take part in,” Hygate added.
The experience will take approximately 90 minutes to complete. Available dates for Walk The Big One XL are April 29, May 6 and June 17. Blackpool Pleasure Beach will add more dates if demand is high.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach opens for ‘White Knuckle Weekends’ from February 12, and then daily from April 2.
