The Eden Project in Cornwall is feeling festive, with the eco-attraction‘s Christmas celebrations now in full swing.
On select evenings through 30 December, the Eden Project’s Mediterranean Biome is home to an immersive orchestra experience, described as “a harmony of uplifting Christmas music, all while bathed in twinkling, ethereal lights”.
For the unique musical attraction, festive favourites such as ‘The Snowman’ and Handel’s ‘Messiah’ have been “expertly intertwined” with ‘Insomnia’ by Faithless and ‘8 Days of Christmas’ by Destiny’s Child.

Elsewhere, the Rainforest Biome has been transformed into an enchanted forest with incredible light displays featuring hundreds of suspended fibreoptic lights, glistening orbs, lasers and shimmering illuminations.
“We’ve really pulled out all the stops this year. Christmas at Eden is always brilliant fun to create,” said the Eden Project‘s live programmes producer, Kate Francis.
“It allows people to experience the site in such a different way to normal, and this year we think all the colourful sights, sounds and stories to be discovered will really get people into the festive spirit.”
The outdoor gardens are also home to light displays, as well as Eden’s ‘Tunnel of Lights’ attraction. In addition, the ice rink is open until 19 February 2023.
Colourful sights, sounds and stories
“Father Christmas is back with his helpers and has proven extremely popular with families with just a few spaces remaining to book,” added Francis.
“Children get to meet Father Christmas and his elves and hear a magical story about Elfie the elf, whose first season on the job sees them overcoming their nerves and saving Christmas.”
Earlier this year, Eden launched its first virtual tour, giving online visitors from across the globe the chance to explore its iconic biomes.
The Eden Project’s Christmas experience is taking place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from now, and daily from December 15.
