The WNDR Museum, a new immersive art experience, has opened in San Diego with exhibits including a light floor and infinity mirror room.
First launched in Chicago, the WNDR Museum merges art and technology to offer a multi-sensory experience where visitors can see, hear, touch and smell the exhibits.
Highlights include parts of an expansive mural by Keith Haring, an immersive video, light, and sound experience based on the childhood memories of Leigh Sachwitz, and a light floor with hundreds of pressure sensors that react to visitors.
‘Quantum Mirror’ by Adrian Stein is a “structural meditation on modern human consciousness,” Stein said.
“It’s an infinity room with over 150 mirrors that touches on our interaction with technology.
“Our obsession with screens, the way that our self-perception has changed as social media has become more popular in our society.”
WNDR’s expansion across US
The exhibits at WNDR’s venues explore how technology has changed the way art is created and experienced.
The WNDR Museum is expanding across the US, with new venues also set to launch in Seattle and Boston.
“Boston is home to many world-class museums, which is why WNDR was determined to put its next location in Boston,” said Ryan Kunkel, president of WNDR Global.
“WNDR is not just a museum but also a vehicle for unexpected collaboration, community engagement, corporate partnerships, and innovation.
“WNDR wants to be a space to create, learn, share, and play for all who call Boston home and for individuals merely visiting one of America’s most historic cities.”
