Morgan’s Wonderland, the world’s first ultra-accessible theme park, has landed Richard Pretlow as its new president.
Pretlow, a theme park industry veteran, brings more than 14 years’ experience to the attraction in San Antonio, Texas.
“There is so much trajectory at Morgan’s Wonderland, from potential new rides, food, retail, entertainment and ticketing opportunities,” he said.
“I am focused on implementing these opportunities and expanding awareness in the community to take the park to the next level.”

Pretlow has served in leadership roles with various theme parks, including SeaWorld San Antonio, Six Flags Great Escape, Six Flags America and Sesame Place.
Morgan’s Wonderland is the world’s first theme park designed and built for people with special needs.
“We are not just a theme park, we are doing so much more to bring about inclusion,” said Gordon Hartman, founder of the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation, and CEO and founder of Morgan’s Wonderland.
“Richard’s vision for the park shows how we are just getting started in fulfilling our mission.”
Hartman and his wife Maggie created Morgan’s Wonderland for their daughter Morgan, who was born with profound physical and cognitive challenges.

“She’s an incredible young lady, even though she is maybe at the cognitive level of a three or four-year-old, and has had numerous physical issues,” he told blooloop.
“She has a spirit beyond anything you could ever imagine. She always has a smile on her face and wants to give you a hug.”
Elsewhere, an inclusive and accessible theme park for guests with “mental, physical or intellectual disabilities”, is under development in Missouri.
The 60-acre attraction, called Spirit of Discovery Park, will be the second fully accessible theme park in the US, after Morgan’s Wonderland.
Last year, Merlin Entertainments opened the world’s first Peppa Pig Theme Park in Florida. The park is home to accessible ride vehicles and attractions.
