MAT Filtration Technologies, a manufacturer of high-efficiency water filtration equipment and provider of engineering services, has announced the launch of a new Zoological Operations Division. By combining its extensive knowledge and experience in zoos and wildlife conservation with zoological and veterinary skills, as well as recreation technology, the company hopes to establish itself as a leading specialist in this area.
The new MAT Zoos team has expertise in management, consultation, and zoological and curatorial operations for zoos and aquariums. They offer a wide range of services, including concept development, operational management, veterinary care, hiring, curatorial services, and assistance with AZA, WAZA, and EAZA accreditation.
Delivering world-class attractions
In an effort to develop a working environment that encourages innovation and attention to detail, MAT Zoos is dedicated to conducting business with transparency, honesty, and professionalism. Its vision is to be known as the top entertainment and leisure consultancy company offering specialised facility operations and zoological consultation services.
The firm is affiliated with top, globally renowned zoological organisations and attractions investors and owners in order to provide economic returns through the development, planning, delivery, and management of exceptional, world-class attractions that are sustainable over the long term.
Last year, MAT Filtration Technologies announced that it is working to create a new experience at Al Khor Zoo in Qatar. The firm is designing, commissioning and installing the complete ALSS and the acrylic panel for the zoo’s new Underwater Elephant Experience, which will have the largest underwater viewing panel for an elephant exhibit in the Middle East.
The company has also been working on the New Mazatlán Aquarium, a brand new, state-of-the-art aquarium set to open this year. Covering an area of 50,000 square meters and representing an investment of over 70 million dollars, the attraction is dedicated to exploring the Sea of Cortez and will be the largest aquarium in Latin America. The project team spoke to blooloop in 2022 about what it takes to create a world-class aquarium.
