Visitors to Atlanta’s new venue will enjoy 10 unique zones and interactive attractions.

Merlin Entertainments has opened its first Lego Discovery Center in North America, a next-gen indoor attraction in Atlanta.

The former Legoland Discovery Center has been renovated and reimagined to offer new experiences, including a Lego building experience called Spaceship Build & Test.

Visitors will enjoy 10 unique zones and interactive attractions across more than 34,000 square feet. These include an entire area for playing and creating with Lego bricks.

The new Duplo Park zone includes brick quarries and a Duplo duck pond. Elsewhere, visitors can create their own Lego Minifigures.

“Over the past few months, we’ve worked very hard to make the Lego Discovery Center Atlanta the ultimate adventure for families to play, explore, create and have fun together,” said Jamica Butler, the venue’s general manager.

“We are thrilled to see the excited faces of families as they explore all the new experiences.”

Lego Discovery Center Atlanta has opened as a Certified Autism Center (CAC). All employees are trained to understand and help any visitors on the autism spectrum or with other sensory disorders.

Additionally, a special sensory guide is available for visitors prior to and during their visit.

Merlin’s first next-generation Lego Discovery Centre opened in Brussels last year. The facility features more than 3,000 square metres of family-friendly attractions.

Reimagined and rebranded attraction

Boston is also getting a new Lego Discovery Center, as is Washington, DC. Co-created by the Lego Group and Merlin, both will include interactive indoor Lego-themed play experiences, activities and workshops.

Merlin owns and operates 27 Legoland Discovery Centres in North America, Asia, Europe and Australia.

The company’s portfolio of attractions also includes 10 Legoland resorts on four continents.

Elsewhere, Merlin and Hasbro are opening North America’s second Peppa Pig Theme Park in Texas’ Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2024.

Designed as the ultimate theme park experience for children, the new park will provide rides, interactive attractions, themed play areas and shows.
