Interlink celebrates launch of Yuta Falls at Lost Island Theme Park

SuperFlume ride features a fabricated central rock formation which is visible across the park

Interlink, a leading water ride designer and manufacturer, has announced the launch of Yuta Falls, a new SuperFlume ride at Lost Island Theme Park, Iowa.

The theme park opened to the public last year, and Yuta Falls opened at the start of the park’s second season. The ride was originally planned to open as part of the park’s grand opening. However, a fire destroyed the boarding station and so the launch was pushed back while the firm waited for replacement ride system parts.

A new park focal point

The ride is set in the Yuta zone of the park and takes its name from its location. The central feature of Yuta Falls is a large, fabricated rock structure. This intertwines with the ride’s water channel and features an etched symbol representing the Yuta (Earth), as well as a rotating water wheel. The structure can be seen throughout the park and serves as a totem.

Guests can expect to get soaking wet with a ride design that includes two lift hills with heights of 7.5 and 14 metres.

Upon entering the attraction, visitors experience a pre-show/boarding area that explains the history of the Yuta zone while waiting to board their vessel. They then ride on 6-seater themed boats to find the magical water source and its cascading waterfall. The ride lasts around minutes as guests are transported along the 320-metre-long water channel, climbing and plummeting into the refreshing splash pools at either side of the lift hills.

Yuta Falls is Interlink’s second ride at Lost Island Theme Park and joins Awaati Battle in the Awaati (Water) Realm. This ride is one of the firm’s Water Battle rides and opened alongside the park.

John Hudd, Interlink managing director, comments “We’re delighted to be able to open yet another of our water attractions at Lost Island Theme Park, we’ve loved working with them to create these uniquely themed rides and deliver Yuta Falls to the park in time for the 2023 season to help them to attract visitors all summer long.”

Interlink exhibited at Saudi Entertainment and Amusement (SEA) Expo this year, at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 28 – 30 May 2023.
