Semantic was recognised for its LOOP platform, which helps attractions to create engaging websites

Semantic, a company that designs, creates and optimises websites for visitor attractions around the world and the creator of the LOOP platform, is celebrating a recent awards win. LOOP was chosen as the Best Cloud Solution Award at this year’s international Umbraco Awards, held at Umbraco’s CodeGarden event.

There were more than 300 submissions from across the globe, with around 40 other applicants alone in the Best Cloud Solution category, so LOOP fought off some tough competition in order to go home with the award.

Simplifying the creation of attraction websites

“Umbraco is one of the Content Management Systems (CMS) that we use for our website projects,” explains Semantic’s managing director, Neil Lewin  “We’ve used it for many years, and have recently been working to package up our 20+ years of attractions expertise into a more scalable solution. With LOOP, we use the Umbraco CMS and are also using their great new cloud architecture. This means we can streamline our processes and help more attractions, zoos, theme parks, and tourism destinations level up their online capabilities.”

As a digital agency, staying on the cutting edge of technology is what drives Semantic. The firm works to give its clients the best solutions possible by utilising a range of tools, processes, and techniques. Semantic’s new LOOP platform for attractions is the result of its unique combination of design, technology and sector expertise.

LOOP uses the most recent Umbraco Cloud technology to make the creation of attraction websites more efficient than ever. It no longer takes months to develop, design, and code a website; instead, it takes just a few days. This allows attractions to quickly launch sites that are better and more accessible. Customers can benefit from a variety of features designed specifically for attractions, like open times, alert messages, daily show listings, maps, help centres, and more, all supported by the easy editing capabilities of Umbraco CMS.

“Ensuring attractions could be presented in unique and compelling ways online was a key part of our LOOP planning,” says Lewin. “Creating a scalable, flexible foundation, whilst allowing attractions to add their own look and feel was no mean feat.  Our combination of best-practice modules, layout options and custom styling layers means we have struck a balance between flexibility and speed so that clients can save money and time.”

Semantic will continue to grow LOOP’s capabilities

The jury said:

“Semantic combines technical skill with clever business decision-making, enabling them to generate improved profit margins using their versatile baseline across multiple projects. Congratulations on this achievement! It’s truly delightful to witness the swift deployment of various sites through Umbraco Cloud. The presentation provided a clear understanding of how everything functions, and I appreciated the attractive Umbraco components showcased.

“Semantic has truly elevated the concept of baselines and demonstrated how they can greatly enhance the accessibility of Umbraco sites for diverse clients. The solutions they have created are visually appealing, and the clients are highly satisfied with the outcomes.”

Lewin adds:

“The whole team at Semantic have been involved in the process to bring LOOP to life and I’m really proud to see this achievement recognised.  From bringing together the spec, mockups and flexible designs, to mapping out the infrastructure and overcoming all the challenges along the way, they’ve really created something that we can grow and build on for years to come.

“To attend the awards ceremony, and get the win is a fantastic result.  The team should be really proud of all the effort they’ve put into LOOP.  It’s great to see our innovative new cloud solution for attraction websites get recognised in this way.”

“Equally, I’d like to thank the first LOOP attractions who have come on board since the start of 2023.  Their trust, support, and valuable feedback have played a crucial role in helping to shape the platform. We’re excited to continue growing LOOP’s capabilities so that we can empower more attractions with our innovative technology and help them flourish in the future.”

Earlier this year, Semantic worked with Wildwood Trust, the UK’s leading native species rewilding charity, in order to create a new website.
