Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is to open the new Dolly Parton Experience in May 2024.
Via the Dollywood website, the Dolly Parton Experience will feature various interactive elements to immerse visitors in Parton’s story.
“Housed in multiple buildings, the multi-faceted Dolly Parton Experience includes exhibits which span her iconic career, the inspiration and results of her biggest dreams, the importance of her family, and even a curated exhibit that highlights Dolly’s signature style through the years,” says Dollywood.
The new attraction replaces the Chasing Rainbows Museum at Dollywood and is three times the size of it. The theme park‘s entire Adventures in Imagination area is being transformed for the Dolly Parton Experience.
New attractions at Dollywood
Also new at Dollywood in 2024 is the updated Lightning Rod coaster, which will offer a new high-speed chain lift.
“Despite the removal of the launch system, once the coaster trains reach the first drop, the ride experience remains identical to the current format revered by coaster enthusiasts around the world,” Dollywood said in a press release.
Additionally, Dollywood’s new HeartSong Lodge & Resort opens this month and comes after the launch of the $25 million Big Bear Mountain roller coaster.
Constructed by Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist, Big Bear Mountain is Dollywood’s longest coaster to date.

Last year, Parton revealed plans to open a new museum “within the next couple of years” at a planned ‘Dolly Center’ complex in Nashville.
“I’m going to have a museum here [in Nashville] pretty soon, within the next couple of years,” Parton told the Tennessean.
“We have the [Chasing Rainbows Museum] at Dollywood, of course, but I would love to have something here since this is really my home,” she added.
The museum, said Parton, might be part of “a larger complex, like a ‘Dolly Center’ or something that includes the museum”.
