Gateway Ticketing Systems celebrates appointment of Tom Chiarella as president of OCTO’s Executive Board

News
Gateway Ticketing Systems Tom Chiarella

Gateway Ticketing Systems, a leading provider of admission control systems, has shared that its executive vice president and head of product, Tom Chiarella, has been appointed president of the Executive Board at the non-profit organisation OCTO.

OCTO, an independent and transparent association, is transforming connectivity standards in the travel experiences sector through its open-source API specification.

The association is committed to bringing together an industry frequently fragmented by incompatible systems. Its API integration aims to simplify the integration of tours, activities, and attractions by providing seamless connections across booking systems, resellers, and agencies. This offers participants lower development expenses and increased market reach, while also providing customers with an improved experience.

Growing membership

As a member of OCTO, Gateway Ticketing Systems is using the organisation’s API integration with its acclaimed Galaxy Connect platform.

Chiarella says: “I am excited to continue my executive board service with the OCTO organization as president, supported by an incredible board of directors with diverse industry experience.

“Over the past year, the OCTO organization has grown in membership, published additional capabilities, and seen an increase in adoption of the OCTO specification. As we look forward to the year ahead, we will increase our engagement with existing and new members, launch additional best-of-industry capabilities, and expand the reach and implementation of the OCTO specification.”

Chiarella is joined on the OCTO executive committee by Oskar Bruening from Peek as vice president, Caitlin Montgomery from 360 Chicago as treasurer, and Carrie Keplinger from Elevate The Experience as executive director.
