Panasonic Connect releases new set-up and content software for its media processors

News
Panasonic immersive experience

Panasonic Connect Europe, a leading audiovisual technology provider, has announced the release of new integrated software for its media processors – the ET-FMP50 Series.

This software is now available and has been specifically designed for the three media processors in the FMP50 Series. It simplifies and streamlines the entire workflow process, covering everything from advanced setup to content management. Installers and technical operators can enjoy intuitive and seamless control over large-scale immersive experiences using multiple projectors, all from a single interface platform.

The software integrates cutting-edge screen adjustment capabilities, including precise geometry correction, along with comprehensive content management functions when using the FMP50 Series.

Immersive visual effects

During the installation and setup, technicians can use automatic screen adjustment to carry out several complex modifications, resulting in immersive visual effects with unmatched accuracy. The pixel-by-pixel calibration ensures precise fine-tuning and enhanced image quality post-adjustment. This contributes to a smoother, more refined result that accurately displays intricate details, enriching the overall visual experience. The available functionalities include geometry correction, content splitting, edge blending, black level adjustment, and colour-matching masking.

Moreover, the content management feature offers everything needed to automate playback from various media. Users can easily register different content types, including still images and videos, build playlists, and set up schedules for daily, monthly, or even yearly activities.

Streamlined and cost-effective

The new software transforms the FMP50 Series into a robust solution for projects that need multiple projectors, either working separately or together to create immersive environments. This integration provides unmatched flexibility and accuracy, making it the ideal choice for various applications.

The FMP50 Series of media processors, introduced earlier this year, comprises two box-type devices (ET-FMP50/FMP20) and a function board (ET-SBFMP10) that is compatible with the Intel SDM specification slot.

Designed specifically for large multi-projection setups, the FMP50 and FMP20 models feature a compact design, allowing for installation close to Panasonic projectors to minimise cabling or in a standard rack utilising an optional mounting kit. They offer a 3840 x 2160p content canvas output through 4x HDMI. Multiple units can be synchronised to connect systems of any size. The SBFMP10 model integrates into the Intel SDM-ready slot of compatible projectors to decode 3840 x 2160p signals, and devices can be connected using a single LAN cable.

“This latest software with our FMP50 Series enables integrators to build immersive experiences in a faster, more streamlined and cost-effective way,” says Hartmut Kulessa, European marketing manager for visual system solutions at Panasonic Connect Europe.

“Our partners can control, manage and adjust everything in preparation and on-site for their projects. In the Panasonic projection ecosystem, this solution streamlines cabling and installation, enhances interoperability and enables quick and easy programming and adjustments or readjustments as required.

“Moving forward, we will continue to add functionality to this game-changing application software platform including remote operation and monitoring.”

Earlier this year, Panasonic Connect provided cutting-edge DLP laser projection technology for an innovative installation at the Ephesus Experience Museum in Selçuk, Turkey. The new, sustainable museum is located in the pine forest at the Ephesus archaeological site and features an immersive installation that transports visitors to the ancient trading city. 123 Panasonic DLP laser projectors have been used to deliver this multi-sensory experience.
